If you have any problems with your CD-ROM, please check the CD-ROM Technical Support page first. That page details common problems and suggested solutions.
If problems persist, I will be happy to supply a replacement CD providing the original is returned. There is no time limit on this - I will replace defective CD-ROMs no matter how old they are.
If the CD-ROM is less than a year old, you have proof of purchase (or approximate date if ordered online), and the fault is not due to poor handling or storage, there is no charge for this. You just pay for the postage to send it back to me, and I pay for the return postage.
If the problem is caused by misuse or improper storage conditions, if you have had the CD-ROM for over a year or have lost the receipt/invoice, I charge a handling fee (shown below) to cover the media and postage costs. Payment may be made by cash, UK cheque or postal order payable to Paul Stenning. Alternatively you may pay online by PayPal to "paypal (at) service-data.com", then state the PayPal reference number in a letter with the CD.
I have started to see problems with a number of CD-ROMs supplied between around 1998 and 2000 that have paper labels. It seems that over time the adhesive attacks the silvering on the CD-ROM, making the disk unreadable. Because this seems to be quite a common problem and is in effect a manufacturing defect, I am offering a lower handling fee to replace them. If you have some of these, it would be worth getting them all replaced now.

You only need to send the disks themselves, not the cases etc. Because you will be sent a replacement, it doesn't matter if the CD-ROMs you are returning get further damaged in the post. I don't normally test returned disks; I just destroy them and send replacements.
